“Bitė Lietuva“ revenue grew by more than 20 percent during second quarter

During the second quarter of the 2005 revenue of telecommunications company “Bitė Lietuva“ reached EUR 35.1 million and by 21 percent surpassed the result of the same period last year. EBITDA during the second quarter of 2005 reached EUR 7.7 million and grew by 32.5 percent compared to the second quarter of 2004. For the first half year the revenue was EUR 65.7 million (18.2 % growth) and EBITDA EUR 13.4 million (9.5 % growth).At the end of second quarter the number of customers using “Bitė” network reached 1.14 million and grew by more than 54 percent compared to the same period of last year. Customers of mobile service providers on “Bitė Lietuva” network make 36 000 of the total customer base.
„Such a fast growth in today’s market is possible only when you offer services that are relevant for the customers and the market. Our strategy focusing on modern solutions and search for new possibilities of mobile connection in everyday life is a basis for our success“, – said CEO of “Bitė” Group Jesper Theill Eriksen.
According to him, “Bitė’s“ leadership in business customer market and number portability service as well as results of customer satisfaction survey prove company’s success. According to the recent research, “Bitė” is number one in serving customers: even 97 percent of customers evaluated company’s customer care and services as “very good” or “good”.
During the first half of the year „Bitė Lietuva“ was first to launch modern and useful services in the market: “Bitė for safe home” service based on telemetry solutions, possibility to watch LNK TV news or browse in the biggest news wap portal “Delfi” with your mobile phone. Expanded partnership with the world’s largest mobile operator “Vodafone” provided possibility for customers to use clear and lower roaming tariffs in more than 100 countries with “Vodafone World”. Company’s outlets were redesigned according to the new customer care concept.
“Bitė” market share in business customers market saw a record growth during the year. According to the CRA report, “Bitė” business customers market share reached 40.5 percent (customers of mobile services providers using “Bitė” network makes 3 percent) – up from 30.8 percent in the same period of 2004. Strong leadership in business market was supported by possibility to use unlimited fastest data transmission for flat fee as well as continuous expansion of EDGE network.
During the first half of the year “Bitė“ remained leader in number portability as well. Using the number portability service, more than 30 000 customers switched to “Bitė“, outnumbering the leavers by 3 times. This year “Bitė“ was chosen by “Snoras“ bank, also, by such companies like “BTA draudimas”, “Pačiolis“, “Agaras“, “Muresta“ and others.
According to J.T. Eriksen, entrance into Latvian market and creation of international “Bitė” Group was one of the most exciting steps this year. One of the largest telecommunications groups in the Baltic states was formed in early June and consists of UAB “Bitė Lietuva” (former “Bitė GSM”) and SIA “Bite Latvija” both operating as “Bitė” Group companies.
