During the first quarter of this year, the revenue of telecommunications company “Bitė Lietuva” reached EUR 38.9 million and, compared with the same period in 2005, increased by 20.5 percent*. During the same period the company‘s EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) reached EUR 8.4 million and, compared to the results of the last year, increased by 58.2 percent.

The number of “BITE Latvija” customers grew by 46 percent

During the first quarter of 2006, the number of telecommunications company “BITE Latvija” customers reached 81.100 (including 443 customers of other mobile services providers on “BITE Latvija”) and grew by more than 46 percent compared to the end of 2005. Company’s revenue, compared to the last quarter of 2005, grew by over 28 percent and reached 718 thousand LVL*. The EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization), due to the investments into the network, sales network building and new services presentation, reached a loss of 1.4 million LVL. „Bitė“ will launch 3G services in Lithuania and Latvia

Telecommunications company „Bitė Lietuva“ will start providing 3G (UMTS) services right after receiving of all relevant permissions for 3G network exploitation. Its is planned that already in April “Bite” will present new data transmission possibilities and the most advanced 3G portal in the Baltics „Bite plius“. 3G services will first be presented in April for the citizens of five biggest cities and until autumn they will be expanded to more than 20 Lithuanian cities. Later 3G will be implemented in 40 cities of the country. The company will also start offering 3G services in Latvia in June. The company forecasts that its investments into 3G network in Lithuania will reach 1 billion Litas in ten years period. More
