Changes in Management Board

Today Maarten van Engeland, CEO and Chairman of Management Board of Telecommunications Company BITĖ Group, has announced about his decision to leave his position at BITĖ. He will have his last working day in the company on Friday, March 2nd. Until a new CEO has been appointed, James J. Jackson is taking over the responsibilities as the Chairman of Management Board for the company on an interim basis.The Chairman of BITĖ Supervisory Council, Bruno Ducharme, wishes to thank Maarten van Engeland for his contribution to BITĖ and to welcome James J. Jackson. B. Ducharme stated “Maarten has accomplished a great deal in a short period of time at BITĖ. BITĖ is a well structured and organized company with an attractive position in Lithuania. In Latvia, BITĖ has made significant progress towards establishing itself as a competitor. Maarten van Engeland deserves credit and our sincere thanks for these accomplishments. James J. Jackson is an experienced executive who will bring a great deal of value to BITĖ. He worked for almost 10 years at “Telesystem International Wireless” (TIW) in various capacities, including as CFO of our operations in Romania and the Czech Republic and as Head for Corporate Affairs. He is well-respected in the industry and the financial community and is keen to work with BITĖ team at the interim period”.
Maarten van Engeland added: “I am proud to have been a part of the BITĖ success story. I am happy that the company is in a stronger position than when I joined it. Maarten van Engeland joined BITĖ Group as a CEO and the Chairman of Managment Board in January 2006. Before that M. van Engeland the position as Executive Vice President for TDC Solutions, where he was leading installation and services business.
